The Palmer LTER Bibliographic Citation Collection is available online from a centralized database. Web forms and scripts, written in PHP, provide search, input, and update interfaces to the MySQL database backend. Input and updates are made via a mediated web form submission. For accession tracking, a Palmer LTER Contribution Number is given to refereed publications by LTER researchers working in the PAL LTER area. Entries are made available to the user as HTML or as an XML or ASCII-tagged downloadable file. Rather than supporting formatting centrally, individual participants may download in the ASCII file format and import into local Endnote applications.
